Hi, I just wanted to use this space to properly recognize and let everyone know how proud our very own Yasmeena Sharif made our class today!
Even though she was feeling nervous almost to the point that she was shaking, Yasmeena stepped up like the strong leader that she is and gave a fantastic speech that brought smiles and applause from every student and staff member alike.
Speaking in front of 3-400 restless young boys and girls is never easy and yet Yasmeena approached the podium calm, cool, and collected, so much so that you would have never known that she had butterflies in her tummy the whole time. These are the signs of student that cares not just about the school, but the well being of her peers as well.
I’m so proud of you and I know that our entire class feels the same way. Even though this time around things did not go in your favor, once again you handled the outcome like a mature young lady because you understand very well that elections, especially school ones, are very tough to navigate as you never know what the student body is looking for in a candidate.
Anyway, as I said before, I’m so proud that you took the initiative and put in the work necessary in order to earn the position of your choice. Below is the video that I took of your speech; sorry about the quality as it goes in and out.
If the link doesn’t work just let me know and I’ll fix it. Also, I will post Irene’s speech when I return home this evening.
Enjoy!
Go Yasmeena!! We are very proud of you! The cloud is not your limit!!
